Going to the dentist is something most of us would rather not do. However, it is necessary especially if we want to prevent the development of serious oral health problems. Regular visits to your dentist can prevent having to undergo costly and complicated procedures. The visits ensure that your dentist is able to identify problems early and deal with them before they become even more complex.
If you haven’t visited your dentist recently, do so soon if you are exhibiting any of the following signs.
1.Wisdom teeth pain
It is not easy to ignore pain especially when it is wisdom teeth pain. It is hard to carry out daily tasks with such pain. It usually affects the entire face.
The sensation of pain is more than a nuisance. It is also a sign of a serious problem that needs urgent attention. If the pain lasts for more than a day or two, it is important to see your dentist. It could be a sign of infection or decay.
2.Recession and bleeding of gums
If the gums around the area where the wisdom teeth are growing begin to recede and bleed unprovoked, then you may need to see a dentist. If the condition is not treated, it could lead to further damage to the tissue and the structure supporting the teeth, causing more complications and pain.
3.Pressure building up around the molar gum area
This is usually a sign of wisdom tooth impaction. It is important for extraction of the tooth that is growing under the surface to prevent further complications. Delaying this procedure any longer would result in further complications as the tooth becomes harder to extract the longer it grows. Contact your dentist for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible.
